Hey guys!

Sorry I've been absent here. Been dealing with a lot of stuff. I promise I'll update new stuff here as soon as I can. ;)

But right now I need to spread out a situation that happened this wednesday.

So you guys probably know my two fanarts based on the animated 80's series Inspector Gadget, "Depressed Gadget" and "Penny being Shot", both drawn back at 2016.

Depressed Gadget
Penny being Shot

Both fanarts, although they're based on my favorite animated serie, have different subjects.

"Depressed Gadget" was based on dealing stuff that happened to me back at 2015, and "Penny being Shot" was an illustration I did based on my fanfiction "Broken Heart".

So far both fanarts have been getting faved by other people who liked the drawings and are also fans of the series, and one of them, which I'm going to mention on this journal, was raysay12.

The guy also commented on my "Penny being Shot" fanart, which is totally normal, but after a few hours he commented again but showing both images atached together by him, theorizing that both drawings were subjectly connected.

Here is a printscreen I took of his comment with the edited attachement.

Since he didn't asked me first, and although it credited me on his edit (but without an @ or even a link of my DA gallery on my username), it's kind of normal what my reaction was.

Another person who was also aware of his edit was my friend ButterflyBlew, who was kind enough to adress me of the situation by sending a message on Facebook.

Here's the thing, I usually don't mind people sharing my art in a way to help me reach my artworks to other people, but when it comes to reposting, especially when they don't ask permission first, and after my experience with another fanart of mine based on another series I also like, the Powerpuff Girls, which was also reposted but on Instagram and Youtube by a Powerpuff Girls fanpage, I decided myself to never accept people reuploading my artwork unless they ask me first. Why, you ask? Because most of the time the number of views and likes goes to them and not the main artists behind the artworks.

And that's exactly what happened here. This person just downloaded my two Inspector Gadget fanarts and edited them, posting the edit on his gallery, even with the credit on the description, without my permission first.

Another thing is, just for my curiosity, I checked his main gallery and surprisingly most stuff he has there are reposted artwork from other artists and also official artwork and printshots, most of them being of the anime Detective Conan, which are not credited at all for what I saw.

Of course as an artist I am I couldn't just being shut with all this, so I just answered about his edit and also about his gallery (as you can see down below).

Captura de ecra 2020-10-29, as 00.17.06

After a few minutes he responded, giving his apologies but also giving me two choices: to download his edit and repost it on my gallery or that he would delete my artwork as I asked. As for the other artwork he reposted he just gave me that typical answear about not to worry about it and minding my own business (as shown below).

Captura de ecra 2020-10-29, as 00.17.10

I couldn't take his answear seriously. I mean two options? Is he fucking insane by taking my answear as a joke?!

Why would I want to download his edit and repost it on my gallery? It doesn't make sense!

The second option kind of worried me, by if he was going to remove his edit on his gallery or if he somehow was going to hack my account and erase all my artwork.

In the end I didn't answear because I really didn't know what to do, not to mention that at the time I was dealing with this it was night time in my current region and I was getting tired.

Only in the morning of yesterday I saw that he edited his answear, saying that he removed his edit from his gallery but still begging to give another chance to it. The rest of the comment kept the same. After a few hours he edited the comment again but still insisting to reupload it and this time with the credits well done (as shown below).

Captura de ecra 2020-10-29, as 00.39.39
Captura de ecra 2020-10-29, as 09.50.58

I didn't respond to him, I mean it's obivious what my answear was going to be.

However, out of my surprise, this morning I just saw that the goddamn bastard just reuploaded his edit on his gallery, even if this time he just gave my credits correctly with the link of my main page and also of my fanarts (as shown below).

Captura de ecra 2020-10-30, as 20.04.52
Captura de ecra 2020-10-30, as 20.09.48

And then I checked my notifications and there there was his comment edited again (as shown below).

Captura de ecra 2020-10-30, as 15.07.02

Please tell me if his comment sounds normal or if I'm just the only who don't find it normal. Because here's the thing, if someone is reposting artwork from other artists, not only from Deviantart but also from other social media (Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.), just because they like it or for something else it's normal that I need to call them out because this is ARTSTEALING!!! So no, don't ask me to mind my own business when this is fucking serious!

And another thing is I made myself clear that I don't anyone reposting my artwork unless they ask me first and depending on they're reasons why I decide if I want to or not. My artworks takes lots of hours of working so I expect you respect it! And this goes for other artists as well!

So I'm writting this journal to spread this out. I've been tiring myself due to depression, both to real life issues and also my art profession, and I just don't want to deal with anymore bullshits like this one. In fact this is almost enough for making me give up on posting my artwork on the internet since there's no respect on artists at all, it makes me even sick.

So I ask you if you can help me spread this out and report this guy. I usually don't know how to report people who do this kind of crap to the main staff of Deviantart due to not knowing how to do it, so I prefer asking someone who are used to report artthieves here. My friend ButterflyBlew already help me giving the report and I hope you guys can do the same, not only for me but also to help the other artists who might not be aware of this.

Thank you for taking your time reading this. Any help is welcome and appreciated.

See ya guys then!

Inktober 2019

21 min read

After receiving a suggestion from my friend EyesOfThePhasm about what I should work on on this year's Inktober here's the theme I'll be doing during this month: Themes of October
I actually did a prompt list for it but unfortunately I didn't have much time to organize it correctly due to my anxiety on working on some sketches. And again (if you saw my last journal) although I'm not certain if I'll be able to I'll still try to do the 31 days.
And once again I'll be using the same materials: Sakura Pigma Micron 005, 01 and 05, Sakura Pigma Graphic 1, Sakura Gelly Roll White, Gold and Silver, Promarkers, Uni Posca White, Uni-Ball Signo White and Eddings Gloss Paint Marker Gold and Silver. I'm also going to try the Stabilo Fineliner of 20 colors.

Hope you enjoy my #inktober journey. ;)

Day 1 — Mage

So, how am I starting this Inktober journey? Well let's just say it started with some slight headaches and feeling kind of sick like I wanted to rush to the bathroom and throw up, I even had to make a pause of drawing and see if it would pass and luckily it did though I'm getting these again, can't tell if it is because of tiredness or because of the anxiety, maybe it's both.

Anyways, here's the first drawing. Since mage/wizard/sorcerer is an October thing as well I decided to draw my Mii in Mage form from the Nintendo game "Miitopia", one of my favorite 3DS games, as an introduction for this challenge.

Day 2 — Moon

What's the first thing that comes to me when the subject is about the moon? Well it's mostly the phases, especially the full moon. But also of course my favorite anime Sailor Moon.

And I really like how this drawing turned out. I decided to draw my Sailor Moon Keychain that I got from a convention, it was just calling my eyes to do so. And I'm glad that I went with few colors for the coloring.

Day 3 — Leaves

I just got one of those lucks where one of my promarkers decided to lose ink and faint while working on this piece that I had to redraw this all over again on a new paper. God, this is going well. No, I disagree!

Anyways let's talk about today's drawing. To be honest I didn't know exactly what to draw since leaves are just... you know... leaves. But then I remembered this character, Snufkin, from the book comic novels and the animes "Moomins", which he has that fall/autumn visual on his character design. I can't be sure if the anime series, especially the 90's one, aired on the television in Portugal and I still didn't get the chance to get a copy of one of the books, but I've been seeing some videos on YouTube of the series and it seems interesting. As for the coloring I decided to stick with the grey colors and adding some gold, and I really like how it turned out.

Day 4 — Rainy Day

Boy, trying to have an idea for this prompt was kind of struggling, first because I didn't work on a sketch for it earlier, and second some of the ideas I had would probably take me time due to anatomies, perspectives and all those stressful stuff. So instead I searched on Google some images for ideas until I got with some official illustrations of Snoopy and Woodstock on a rainy day and decided to draw that instead.

Day 5 — Forest

I took the entire afternoon working on the sketch that only after dinner I inked this goddamn drawing! No wonder why I don't usually draw sceneries/landscapes, I take so much time with them due to details. Crying

Anyways, the initial idea that I had for today's prompt was not exactly this, but at the time I was trying to sketch it I wasn't having any luck and gave up, searching for other references until I saw a scenery from the Akira Himekawa's The Legend of Zelda manga "The Minish Cap" (I almost forgot how much I love that scenery) and thought that it had less detail so I took a shot redrawing that scene, but looks can be deceiving 'cause sketching this scenery took me forever! But do I feel guilty about it? Not really. ^^; For once it was a good practice drawing these kind of stuff, and second I just love the result! It was a good idea inking directly to the paper with my Staedtler liner.

Day 6 — Mushrooms

When it comes to mushrooms the first thing that came right to my mind were the dancing mushrooms from one of my favorite Disney classics "Fantasia", so that's what I decided to draw. It was a little more simple and easy to work on which was a good thing since today is voting day in Portugal so it was good not taking so much time with this one.

Day 7 — Squirrels

Hey what y'a know?! Apparently I was able to draw this prompt! :D Only... it was for almost the entire night, I even went to bed almost near 3AM. ^^; Oh well... When it comes to other obligations it can't be helped.

Anyways, the first thing that came to my mind was the squirrel pokémon Pachirisu, and the idea I had for the drawing composition was something similar like two Inktober drawings I did back at 2017, the Mana Rabites one and the Digimon Terriermon and Lopmon one. But at the time I was trying to sketch out this pokémon, by taking a reference from its plush of Pokémon Fan Club, I was getting kind of struggle until finally I got it and was able to move on to the final part. And I don't dislike how it turned out, it's initially what I wanted but better.

Day 8 — Dry Fruits

At the time I was trying to figure out what were some of the themes of October my mother pointed me out that dry fruits were one of the things so I decided to give it a shot.

I kind of remembered that on the game I've been playing, Miitopia, there's a food called Forest Nuts so I decided to draw that. Unfortunately the background got a little bit smudgy due to some black I used for the Mushrooms background that got a little stuck on the cover of my drawing paper pad which I've been using as coloring protect for the table, and the blender promarker didn't clear up some lighting zones of some of the nuts. But asides of that I don't dislike how it turned out, it only suffered some sad accidents but eh, it happens sometimes, not every traditional drawing comes out perfectly.

Day 9 — Grapes

This was another fruit that my mother pointed me out as also a thing of October.

However, when working on the sketch I was feeling kind of tired and sleepy, wasn't even with motivation on doing this prompt. Luckily I was able to do it and finish it. Although it's a sort of an original artwork (still have mixed feelings when it comes working on originals) I really love how this one turned out. It didn't started in a happy way but I'm glad I didn't give up on it.

Day 10 — Hedgehog

Geeeez, I haven't drawn this pesky blue hedgehog for quite a while. It felt nice!

I actually didn't know how I would draw him, if it was by drawing one of his awesome pose sprite from one of the first two games or a scene from the animated series or the comics. But then I decided to draw the pose sprite from the ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 1, and I really like how it turned out. The only struggle I got was for the background. I thought on drawing the Sonic title logo or the Sega logo but preferred not to, then I thought of a rectangle with that chessboard pattern but felt it wouldn't fit well, so I looked for some Sonic official artwork for references until I saw one that had a line of dots. Sure it's a little simple but at least I don't dislike it.

Day 11 — Deer

I'm back on track! This was one tiring week for me by trying to catch up on the days I missed for Inktober which only today I was able to get all of the drawings done. Now it's back to one drawing per day.

Anyways, I don't know what to really say about this one. At first I searched for some Disney's Bambi screenshots and official artwork to see if some inspiration would come up but didn't get some, so I went to search for photos of real life deers on Google but I wasn't really feeling the mood to draw this animal. But of course I didn't want to leave this prompt behind so luckily I found a nice photo of a young deer and drew that, though the drawing is just something simple, I wasn't really excited on this one. Oh well, it happens.

Day 12 — Fox

The first thing that came to my mind when it comes to this prompt was or Tails from the Sonic games or the kyubi from Naruto. But then, out of nowhere, Renamon immediately came to me, and since I like this Digimon a lot I decided to take a shot drawing her instead, and I really like how this one turned out.

Day 13 — Frog

At first I thought on drawing a real frog, but then a character from the anime My Hero Academia that has some sort of frog powers, Tsuyu Asui, came to me so I drew her instead.

It's kinda funny. The first time I started to watch this anime, although I didn't dislike it I wasn't too fond with it, but now after finishing watching the second season I just ended up liking this anime! I still think it's a little too similar to the anime Naruto but it tries to be its own thing as well. I haven't watched the original version but I don't regret it, I really love our version instead, the actors and voice actors Quimbé, Bárbara Lourenço, Ana Teresa Pousadas, Alexandre Maia and Rodrigo Mourão are all congratulated on the excellent job they did. I can't wait for season 3!

Day 14 — Owl

For this one I drew the final evolution of Rowet, Decidueye, based on a screenshot I took while playing Pokémon Ultra Sun. But of painting it in its original colors I decided to go to its shiny colors since I was feeling that some of my promarkers were starting to die and wanted to save them for the other drawings. And no, my starter isn't a shiny. I haven't caught a shiny since I played a little of Pokémon Sapphire on my Gameboy Advance but had to return it because I borrowed that game from a colleague many years ago. Since then I've been regretting doing that and still crying "my first shiny pokémon, my first shiny pokémon". :sniff:

Day 15 — Raven

Drew Maleficent's raven Diablo since he was the first thing that came to my mind for this prompt. I really like the result.

Day 16 — Scarecrow

At first I thought on drawing my own original scarecrow but somehow (and again) I wasn't in the mood to draw it. So while searching for references I just caught up with an image of a plush of the Pokémon Mimikyu dressed up as a scarecrow so I decided to draw that. My apologies if it is another Pokémon drawing but what can I say? I just love Pokémon!

However, although I like the result, this drawing suffered a lot 'cause my promarkers were starting to dry. I even tried the trick of refilling them with some alcohol but the trick only works for like one minute 'cause after that the color starts to become different, a little lighter, like the alcohol is actually erasing the ink inside the marker. But I don't know, maybe I'm doing this trick wrong, or I'm just an unluckily girl or this trick is actually a lie. Oh well... This year's Inktober is really going well for me. Depressed

Day 17 — Spider

For this prompt I remembered an animated serie I used to watch back on 2000's called Spider!, so drew a screenshot of one episode. I even tried to use my blue watercolor and I'm glad I didn't screw this one up since I suck with watercolors.

Day 18 — Bat

When I think of bats I think of Batman, one of my first and favorite superhero since childhood. However this is one of the series I had to give up watching, especially the 90's animated series due to a trauma I have. You see, I have an huge fear of illustrated characters with such exaggerated realistic expressions, for example they have shiny open wide eyes staring at you and a giant smile showing their teeth, stuff like that, and on the Batman series there's this character, Two Faces, which his character design freaks the shit out of me, so I always try to avoid rewatching the animated series again or searching anything related to it because of that.

But still I wanted to draw something related to Batman, if not a screenshot or something like that at least something, and luckily I found an image of the official poster of the animated series, so I drew that. The only down side was that my black color promarker died. Sigh...

Day 19 — Black Cat

Who's the most adorable black cat that deserves to be drawn? That's right! It's our friend Chat Noir!

This one took almost the entire day to be done due to the details, I even got beat up because of it. But it was really worth it, this was one of the drawings I was looking forward to work on since I liked the sketch a lot, and I just love the result! The only down side is that maybe inserting that yellow color for the lamps illumination wasn't probably the right choice, and the Eiffel Tower could have been drawn better. But eh... I really love how this one turned out!

Day 20 — Witch

I've been with some intentions of doing some fanarts of Ojamajo Doremi for quite a while so I thought this prompt was a good opportunity for that.

This was another drawing I was looking forward to work on and I don't deslike it. I just think that maybe the musical notes should have been painted pink and the small dots red instead, but eh... Like I said I don't deslike how it turned out.

Day 21 — Potion

When I think of potions I think of the potions from the Legend of Zelda games or the "Drink Me" potion from Alice in Wonderland.

Somehow I decided to draw the scene where Alice finally passes the doorknob and floats away inside the bottle. However I didn't draw Alice, just the bottle floating on the water of tears. I just love how this one turned out!

Day 22 — Cauldron

When I was writing the list for the prompts I remembered the cauldrons that even my mother mentioned immediately the magic potion from the Astérix comics so I decided to draw Panoramix cauldron.

I don't deslike this one. The only down side was that I tried to paint the smoke with dots but somehow I hated the result and tried to use the blender to fix it, which didn't do much but at least it's not so worst, if I passed with it more I would probably ruined the paper. And the colors I picked were not the best choice either though I tried to be loyal to the original colors, however my intention was to paint the cauldron with my gold Gelly Roll but because the ink was almost being empty I decided to paint it yellow, but every time I was looking at the coloring it felt like it was burning my eyes so it was a good idea to insert a blue rectangle for the background. Oh well...

Day 23 — Poison

f there was one thing I wanted to draw the most for this prompt was the poison apple from Snow White. And I don't have anything to say asides that I just LOVE how this drawing turned out! Finally a drawing without screws or upsets!

Day 24 — Poison

I was planning on drawing another prompt today but because I wasn't with a lot of mood to draw and since I already had the sketch done for this one I ended up drawing this.

Let's just say when I was working on the sketch (a little before the day Inktober really started) I was more hiped on drawing a fanart of the ghost Pokémon Gengar, but at the mean time I was watching some speed drawing videos on YouTube and one of them had the artist talking about a subject that gives me a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to art in general, which was a little about the consequences of posting artwork online. Sure there's nothing wrong a artist talking about this kind of stuff but some of the things he pointed out really made me down and I wasn't feeling excited on keep going with this year's Inktober mostly because I was too worried on what I was drawing for each prompt. So with all of that crap I decided to try drawing my own ghosts instead of doing a fanart based on a ghost. I don't deslike it but again it's nothing spectacular.

Day 25 — Demon

For this prompt I actually thought of Chernobog of Disney's Fantasia, but since he's a character that gives me some scares I decided to draw another demon character that I'm actually not that scared of, and that was Him from the Powerpuff Girls, so I drew the scene from episode "Though Love" where he puts a curse on the citizens of Townsville to hate the girls, and I'm happy with the result.

I find interestingly funny, according to some comments I read on YouTube, how many people got so scared or felt traumatized with this character when they were little (I don't blame them, after all he's a representation of Satan) while I didn't, maybe because of his character design being so simple and not so realistic, and his voice which seems like a mix of a man and woman voices never disturbed me, but again the artstyle of the series is too simple and friendly kind and my consciousness always told me "duh, he's supposed to be a villain, what'd you expect?", so yeah... *shrugs*

Day 26 — Chupacabra

There was a prompt I wrote when doing my list, but I decided to alter it to something else, and that something else was... la Chupacaaaabrrra *goatscreams*. I really love how this one turned out! Drawing this little demon, Charlie, from Dexter's Laboratory brought me so many memories. The episode where he appears, "Got your Goat", is one of my favorites of the series, can't tell if it is the atmosphere it presents, the village of Mexico, that Spanish guitar tune... but one thing I always adored of this episode was the way how the characters spelled out of their mouths the word "chupacabra", it sounded so epic, and the fact that the goats screamed everytime the demon was mentioned made it more hilarious. And I find Charlie really adorable, 'cause trust me, when I was searching for images of what a Chupacabra really is it's way more terrifying.

So tell me. Are you scarred of... La Chupacaaaabrrra? *goatscreams*

Day 27 — Voodoo

It was kind of difficult to know what I would draw for this one. At first I thought on drawing a title card from an episode of a animated series Super Secret Squirrel which was based on this theme, but since it was too simple I decided to make some searches on Google for references otherwise what I had in mind was going to action. However, while doing my search, I found an image of Lilo from Disney's Lilo and Stitch with her doll Xepa, and since her doll looks like a voodoo doll, and since some people who've been passing on my stands of the Artist Alley asked me if I had something related to the movie, I decided to draw her instead.

Day 28 — Boogie Man

Hey Boogie Man, alright alright!

Damn, am I the only one who like this version of Boogie Man from the Powerpuff Girls? "Boogie Frights" was one of my favorite episodes when I used to watch the series back in the early 2000's, I even took inspiration from it to draw my own monsters on a sketchbook when I was around 10-13 years old (haven't touch that for ages, maybe I might try to find it and redraw those monsters for a fanzine or something, that is... if that sketchbook still exists).

As for the drawing it's just good old Boogie with his 70's/80's style costume. I really like how it came out. DAMN, where's a time machine so I can go back to the 90's?

Day 29 — Skeleton

Since I already drew Sans on 2017 Inktober I decided to draw Papyrus with his date clothes this time for today's prompt.

I really need to try out playing Undertale even if I'm already spoiled about it.

Day 30 — Pumpkin

The first idea that I had was to draw Peridot and Lapis with their Pumpkin Mut but somehow I wasn't having lucky drawing them so instead I tried to draw Steven holding his murdered pumpkin which at first I was having trouble as well until finally today I was lucky drawing him.

Day 31 — Trick or Treat

So for this prompt AND to end up this Inktober I drew Pikachu based on the Pokémon Halloween plush by Pokémon Center.

It's over. It's finally over! Should I consider myself if this Inktober was good? Well, it really started with some anxiety since I didn't prepare myself as I wished, and this was probably the first Inktober that really had more ups and downs on me, but asides of that it was still fun.

Thank you very much for appreciating my journey on this again. And many thanks to EyesOfThePhasm for this year theme suggestion.

'till next year! ❤️ And Happy "late" Halloween, everyone! 🎃

Hey guys!

It's been so long since I wrote my last journal.

Anyways, tomorrow is the first day of October and you know what that means… starts Inktober as well and again I will be busy working on the drawings for the entire month. However, because this year I didn't prepare myself for it I've been having a case of anxiety because I don't know if I'll be able to do the 31 days since on the weekend 12th and 13th I'll be in the Portuguese convention IberAnimeOPO in Matosinhos (Porto - Portugal) and I'll need the next week to prepare the material for it. And so far I have 8 sketches done (working on 1-2 more today), sure I could use these drawings for the week I'll be busy, but the thing is some of them I want to work on the final piece in a certain day of the month and also another thing that has been happening while working on the drawings is that sometimes I have motivation and other times I don't, which is an awful feeling, that's why the anxiety, I'm really.

I would still like to try doing the 31 days, by following a theme suggestion given by my friend EyesOfThePhasm (thank you :aww:), but still I can't make a huge promise about it.

But yeah, with all this I also inform since I'm going to focus on this the commissions are closed for the entire month of October (and probably on November too since I'm going to work on something else after all this).

Thank you guys for reading.
Have a rest of a nice day. :blowkiss:
